Settings

FAVORO provides several settings to customize your experience.

Accessing Settings

Click on your profile avatar in the top-right corner, then select Settings from the dropdown menu.

Profile Settings

Name

Your display name shown throughout the application. This can be your real name or any identifier you prefer.

Email

Your email address used for login and notifications. Changing your email requires verification of the new address.

Password

Changing Your Password

  1. Go to Settings → Password
  2. Enter your current password
  3. Enter your new password
  4. Confirm the new password
  5. Click Update Password

Password Requirements

  • Minimum 8 characters
  • We recommend using a password manager to generate and store strong passwords

Appearance

Theme

FAVORO supports light and dark modes:

  • Dark (default) - Easier on the eyes in low-light environments
  • Light - Better visibility in bright environments
  • System - Automatically matches your operating system preference

Areas

Manage your areas from Settings → Areas:

  • View all your areas
  • Create new areas
  • Edit area names and colors
  • Delete areas (with confirmation)
  • Reorder areas

Bookmarklet

Access your personalized bookmarklet from Settings → Bookmarklet:

  • View installation instructions
  • Copy the bookmarklet code
  • Drag and drop to install

Notifications

Control your email notification preferences from Settings → Notifications:

  • Marketing emails - Receive product updates, tips, and news
  • Toggle notifications on or off based on your preferences

Connected Apps

Manage API access and authorized applications from Settings → Connected Apps.

Personal Access Tokens

Personal access tokens let you authenticate with the FAVORO API for scripts, CLI tools, or custom integrations.

Creating a Token:

  1. Go to Settings → Connected Apps
  2. Click Create Token
  3. Enter a descriptive name (e.g., "CLI Script", "Automation")
  4. Select the scopes you need:
    • read - Access your areas, sections, and links
    • write - Create, update, and delete resources
  5. Click Create Token
  6. Copy the token immediately — it won't be shown again!

Important: Treat your tokens like passwords. Never share them or commit them to version control.

Revoking a Token:

  1. Go to Settings → Connected Apps
  2. Find the token you want to revoke
  3. Click Revoke
  4. Confirm the action

Revoked tokens stop working immediately.

Connected Applications

Third-party applications like Raycast extensions, Alfred workflows, or CLI tools can connect to your FAVORO account to access your bookmarks.

Authorizing a New Application:

When a third-party app wants to connect to FAVORO:

  1. The app opens your browser to FAVORO
  2. Sign in if you're not already logged in
  3. Review the approval screen showing:
    • The application's name
    • Permissions it's requesting (read/write access)
    • The application's website (if provided)
  4. Click Approve & Connect to authorize, or Cancel to deny

Tip: Only approve applications you trust. Verify the app name and website before approving.

What to Check Before Approving:

  • Application name — Does it match what you expected?
  • Permissions — Is it asking for more access than it needs?
  • Website — Does the homepage URL look legitimate?

If anything looks suspicious, click Cancel to deny the request.

Re-authorizing an Application:

If you've previously approved an app, it connects automatically without showing the approval screen again.

Revoking Application Access:

  1. Go to Settings → Connected Apps
  2. Find the application in the Connected Applications list
  3. Click Revoke
  4. Confirm the action

The application immediately loses access. You'll need to re-authorize it to use it again.

Data Export

Export all your bookmarks from Settings → Profile:

  1. Click Export Data
  2. Wait for the export to process
  3. You'll receive an email with a download link when ready

The export includes:

  • All your areas (including archived)
  • All sections within each area
  • All links with their labels and URLs

The download link expires after 24 hours for security.

Account Management

Logging Out

Click your profile avatar and select Log Out to sign out of FAVORO.

Sessions

For security, FAVORO will automatically log you out after an extended period of inactivity. You can stay logged in on trusted devices.

Data and Privacy

Your Data

All your areas, sections, and links are stored securely. Your bookmarks are private and only visible to you when logged in.

Deleting Your Account

If you wish to delete your account and all associated data, please contact support. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
